In 2001 a mutual friend introduced me to Dave Foley who was playing at The BBC, one of our favorite food and elixir providers on Cape Cod. Dave was with his trio that night and they were rockin' the house. I was simply amazed at his repertoire and the knowledge Dave had for music. Be it Rock-A-Billy classics, to Country & Western and all genres of Pop. He ended the night hammering out a string of Elvis Costello tunes as we yelled out our requests for some of Costello's least radio friendly tunes! In the autumn of 2004 Dave moved to Nashville to write some tunes, play some gigs and record some tracks, some of them appear on this CD. While Dave was in Nashville it left a void in the local music scene. Upon Dave's return to Cape Cod I tracked him down to see what he was up to. We recorded a 5 song demo and realized how well we worked together in the studio. A few days later Dave provided me with a disc of songs that he had recorded all around the country which appear on this disc. Some of these songs have been previously released while others are seeing the light of day for the first time. We also went back in the studio to record one of the songs that was on the original demo sessions. Later that week, after a 2 minute phone call to Dave, we came to an agreement and to our delight, Dave signed on to Plymouth Rock Records. If you’re ever in the Cape Cod area drop any plans you may have for a Friday or Saturday night and see Dave at one of the many locations he performs and if you’re into having a good old time, don’t expect to be getting home early!
